Battle Rap has been a mainstay in hip-hop since the birth of the culture

We’ve watched the sport of lyrical combat go from small neighborhood gatherings to star studded, high profile events in sold out venues. Battle Rap’s fan base is a tight knit community; this makes it quite easy to identify the more common complaints or suggestions that fans may have to make the sport legitimate. One of the most prevalent complaints that can be seen on social media and heard on Battle Rap radio shows is the lack of judging in battles.

Back in the Fight Klub era the rules were simple, two emcees stood across a pool table from each other, put their wager, whether it be jewelry or cash in the middle of the table, and spit their best rhymes directed at their opponent hoping to be the chosen winner when the judges made their decision at the end of the battle. You might call it a simpler time for the culture. The battlers went into the battle with personal property at stake and in the end there was a defined winner. Fast forward to today’s Battle Rap, judged battles are a rarity which makes claims of dominance in the culture hard to calculate due to no official win or loss record. What if there was a way, a system that you could incorporate into your viewing experience that would help you to define a legitimate winner?

I present to you… B.A.R.S. (Battle Analytics Ranking System) …

The BattleRapStats.com team has been working behind the scenes to create an easy to use, fan friendly ranking system to help calculate who is the true victor of a battle by assigning numerical scores in different categories ranging from originality, directness, stage presence, etc. With the help of the B.A.R.S. system our team has developed you will be able to assign a final score to each battler that will make the winner more identifiable. Over the course of time, with the continued use of the B.A.R.S. system, we will be able to identify who is truly reigning supreme in Battle Rap. This will also result in the so called “Big Names” that have been living off of performances they haven’t put on in years having to earn the big money that they ask for, as well as the hungry up and comers that put their all into every battle getting a check that they deserve.

Don’t just sit on the side lines …

Our team is looking for fellow die hard, motivated fans to join the squad and help us take Battle Rap to the next level. The debates are what keep the culture relevant and they will never go away, we just want to incorporate hard statistics that will make it easier to truly define who is on fire in the culture and who’s flame is dimming. If you feel like you can be an asset to the team feel free to contact us at testgroup@battlerapstats.com and one of our team members will be in touch. Numbers don’t lie and we just want to bring some more truth to the culture.

Remember … “It ain’t where you from, it’s where you STAT!”
